What’s the story?

Since The Royal Rumble match ended with SmackDown Live superstar, Shinsuke Nakamura eliminating Roman Reigns to earn a title shot at WrestleMania, that means the Raw superstars now must determine their number one contender for the Universal Championhip at the Elimination Chamber.

Elias, John Cena and Bruan Strowman have all qualified for the six-man elimination match at next months pay per view and the final three spots will be determined next week on Raw by qualifying matches that have not been announced yet. With that being said, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter predicted who he thinks the final three superstars will be.

The heart of the matter

According to Dave Meltzer, the final three spots will be filled by Seth Rollins, Jason Jordan and Roman Reigns. While Roman Reigns entering the match shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, especially since WWE seemingly has him pencilled in to face Lesnar at WrestleMania 34, the addition of Jordan and Rollins is a little disheartening.

Of course, a lot of that probably has to do with the fact that superstars like Elias, Jordan and Cena are being given a spot that many believe should have been Balor's, but WWE obviously wants to plant the seeds for Rollins versus Jordan and WrestleMania 34 and who can really blame them?

Not only is the Elimination Chamber the best way to finally sever the partnership between Rollins and Jordan, especially with something as special as a main event match at WrestleMania on the line, it is also the best way for WWE to show Jordan's true heelish character in action when he goes to great lengths to cost Rollins the match.

Whats next?

The next three qualifying matches will most likely take place next week on Raw or maybe even a week after that since they have a month to build up to the next pay per view. With that being said, there is also the possibility of no men's qualifying matches taking place next week since it would give WWE a chance to give the spotlight on the women instead.

Authors take

Sure, WWE is obviously putting the former tag team champions in The Chamber match to further sever the ties between them and eventually set up a match between them at WrestleMania 34, but why do they have to pass over Balor getting a spot in the chamber match to do that?

Furthermore, why is Elias in the Elimination Chamber match at all? Maybe it's to help set up the storyline between Elias and John Cena at WrestleMania 34, which would be a waste of time compared to the other opponents WWE could put Cena against, but once again they are passing over Finn Balor in order to do this!

With that being said, is very likely that Roman Reigns will slay 'The Monster Among Men' in the Elimination Chamber match and go on to face 'The Beast' at WrestleMania 34. Whether Strowman is pinned clean or an interference occurs by a returning Kane to set up a match of their own is unclear, but absolutely anything can happen in an Elimination Chamber match.
