What's the story?

Daniel Bryan was recently cleared to return to action in WWE after more than two years on the sidelines, which means that he will need to be replaced as General Manager of SmackDown Live following this year's WrestleMania. According to a report from PW Insider, Jeff Jarrett could replace Bryan in this capacity.

In case you didn't know...

Bryan himself admitted that he wasn't feeling the passion for the position anymore and now that he has been cleared to compete in the ring again, there is no reason why he should be forced into a suit and behind a desk.

Raw General Manager Mick Foley was replaced by Hall of Famer Kurt Angle following WrestleMania last year, and it seems that the company could be planning the same thing this year over on SmackDown.

Jeff Jarrett was a shock addition to the 2018 Hall of Fame class a few months ago, with many of the WWE Universe believing that the star who is mostly associated with TNA, would never walk through the doors at WWE again.

The heart of the matter

According to a report from PW Insider, Hulk Hogan isn't the only name that is on the list of potential candidates for the position. Jeff Jarrett will be returning to the WWE for the Hall of Fame ceremony on Friday night, but it seems that he could be sticking around much longer than that.

Jarrett was recently backstage at the Nashville tapings of SmackDown Live, which was the first time that Jarrett had appeared at a WWE Live Event since 1999.

What's next?

The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place on Friday night, whilst Daniel Bryan will be wrestling at WrestleMania, so it seems that his replacement could be announced in the coming weeks when Bryan's future role in the company is confirmed.

Author's take

Jarrett was a name that many of the WWE Universe didn't think they would hear in WWE circles again, but now that he has returned, he could be about to stick around.

Stranger things have happened in WWE and since Raw General Manager Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett have a lot of history of their own, it could add to an interesting angle in WWE when the brand split on pay-per-view ends in the coming weeks.
