What's the story?

The Undertaker is reportedly still set to face off against John Cena at this year's WrestleMania event but the match hasn't yet begun to build, but it is thought that 'The Deadman' could make a return this weekend.

In case you didn't know...

The Undertaker hasn't been seen on WWE TV since Raw 25, but his wife has updated a number of videos of his training ahead of a return on Instagram which show that the 52-year-old is in good shape ahead of what could be his final showdown.

John Cena teased a match with The Undertaker last week on Raw and it is reported that this was WWE testing the water ahead of a match that Vince McMahon has been planning for a number of years.

The heart of the matter

WrestleMania is less than a month away which means that the buildup for the match between 'The Deadman' and John Cena needs to begin soon. Many fans thought it would start on Monday night Raw next week since Cena isn't booked for anymore SmackDown shows between now and WrestleMania, but this may not be the case.

On the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Bryan Alvarez speculated that he thinks WWE will begin the build this weekend at Fastlane. (Transcript via Ringsidenews)

“I believe the setup for The Undertaker vs. John Cena match will be at Fastlane. I don’t think they will wait for RAW for that one”

The great thing about a six-way match is that there is no disqualification so The Undertaker could interfere in the match and it would be within the rules.

What's next?

John Cena is one of the six participants who are part of the WWE Championship match this weekend at Fastlane and it seems that The Undertaker could be the reason he is unable to win the match.

Author's take

The Undertaker is one of the biggest legends in WWE history, so bringing him back at the final pay-per-view ahead of WrestleMania would definitely boost ratings. The build-up to this match will be slightly odd since The Undertaker and Cena are both considered faces, so it will definitely be interesting to see how 'The Deadman' is brought back into the company and if it is as early as this weekend.
