What’s the story?

A report published by PWInsider says that The New Day and The Shield are expected to wrestle at Survivor Series, but Roman Reigns’ involvement has not been confirmed.

In case you didn’t know...

The New Day interrupted the Raw Tag Team Championship match between Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins and Cesaro and Sheamus and cost Ambrose and Rollins the titles. Since then, the members of The Shield and The New Day have been going at it on twitter.

Cesaro and Sheamus will now face The Usos in a tag champions versus tag champions match.

The heart of the matter

While the New Day and The Shield match is expected to take place, there have been no update on Reigns being cleared for competition.

However, Reigns and Big E had an exchange on Twitter, possibly confirming the match between the two.

If Reigns is cleared, both teams will likely be made a 6-man tag team match. If Reigns is not cleared for competition, the match between The New Day and The Shield will be a two on two match.

Reigns was expected to wrestle alongside Ambrose and Rollins for the TLC pay-per-view, but a medical issue led to WWE pulling him from the show and having Kurt Angle take his place.

Ambrose & Rollins were originally expected to face The Usos in a champion versus champion tag team match, but their recent loss to Cesaro and Sheamus cost them their Raw Tag Team Champions.

What’s Next?

Next week will be the final episodes of Raw and SmackDown before Survivor Series and the match will either be finalized or closer to being confirmed.

The last big faction The Shield faced was Evolution back in 2014, so this rumoured match has a lot to live up to with or without Reigns in the match.

Author’s Take

The Shield and The Usos were both known for their tag team matches, so this upcoming match will more than likely be a potential show stealer.
