From the WWE Rumor Mill: Big update on the Tag Team Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Will we see a third MITB match soon?
Will we see a third MITB match soon?

What's the story?

Money in the Bank is coming our way next month, with two contracts on the line, in two massive ladder matches. These two matches are to determine who can cash in and claim the top titles in the Men's and Women's Division.

There were strong rumours recently that a third ladder match for the Tag Team Championships would also be up for grabs at the pay-per-view. Cageside Seats has rubbished these rumours on their website.

In case you didn't know...

Money in the Bank is the next big WWE pay-per-view. It comes our way on June 17th from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

The second dual-branded pay-per-view after Backlash, it features a stacked lineup of events. AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura will compete in a match with a stipulation that is yet to be determined for the WWE Championship, whereas Carmella will clash with Asuka for the SmackDown Women's Championship too!

Of course, Ronda Rousey and Nia Jax are set to clash for the RAW Women's Championship as well.

The heart of the matter

Not long ago, there emerged a rumour that there would be a Tag Team Money in the Bank match as well. According to Cageside Seats. while there could have been plans at one point, there no longer are any plans for the said match.

No plans have been announced for the tag teams on the pay-per-view yet. In case there are any that surface, rest assured that you guys will be the first to know!

What's next?

More participants for the Men's and Women's Money in the Bank ladder matches are yet to be determined. One assumes that WWE will also have plans for the tag teams in the pay-per-view. The next few weeks should be interesting.

Author's take

I'm glad this match is not happening. Three ladder matches would have been absolute overkill.

I do hope that the tag teams have a strong showing at the pay-per-view, though!
