Will Y2J come appear on the 25th anniversary of RAW?

What's the story?

Amidst all the stories surrounding the return of the legends for the 25th anniversary of Raw, Dave Meltzer discussed former WWE Superstar Chris Jericho's status for the historic moment.

During the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer stated that Jericho's situation is 'up in the air'.

In case you didn't know...

Y2J started off this year with an incredible feud with Kenny Omega. The two faced each other in a no-disqualification match at Wrestle Kingdom 12. Although he didn't win that match, the Alpha vs Omega bout was successful in setting up a high benchmark right at the beginning of the year.

Post that, Jericho stated that he would love to come back to WWE for WrestleMania. However, he clearly mentioned that he wouldn't return unless he has the chance of main-eventing the PPV and he admitted that it's not possible.

The heart of the matter

In this instalment, Meltzer speculated that WWE is keen on bringing Jericho back on Monday Night Raw. However, the two are yet to negotiate the deal before coming to a consensus.

WWE has been advertising Jericho for the 25th anniversary of RAW. That is the reason why they are eager to bring back Y2J to WWE's flagship show and celebrate the return of the 9-time Intercontinental Champion.

What's next?

Jericho hasn't confirmed or denied his presence for the 25th-anniversary episode of RAW. His silence has opened doors to various speculations and a majority of them claim that the WWE Universe will be welcoming "The Alpha" quite soon.

Author's take

Y2J's return may not be confirmed as of now but considering the increased expectations amongst the fans following his stint in NJPW might not leave them disappointed.

Well, the much-awaited episode rolls out tonight and the truth behind all the stories will soon be unveiled.
