From the WWE Rumor Mill: Greatest Royal Rumble could feature The Undertaker

"WrestleMania will no longer define me."

What's the story?

Saudi Arabia will be the home of the third Royal Rumble match of 2018 for the Greatest Royal Rumble event, but there might be an additional surprise planned for the event.

The Undertaker may make an appearance at the event in April according to a report originally published by PWInsider.

In case you didn't know...

The Undertaker has been absent from WWE programming since his return to the 25th Anniversary of Monday Night Raw.

'The Deadman' is expected to take on John Cena next month in April for WrestleMania 34, but the match has not been confirmed yet.

The heart of the matter

If The Undertaker returns for the event, it is not likely that The Phenom will be competing. The report indicated that 'The Deadman', was only scheduled to make an appearance at the Greatest Royal Rumble match as opposed to competing in it.

Despite 'The Deadman' not likely to compete, the WWE has promised a multitude of big names for the event including AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Roman Reigns and several WWE superstars from both Raw and SmackDown.

The following is an excerpt from the press release issued by WWE for the event:

For the first time ever, the Royal Rumble match will feature 50 WWE Superstars. As part of this historic event, fans will see WWE Superstars John CenaTM, Triple HTM, Roman ReignsTM, AJ StylesTM, Braun StrowmanTM, The New DayTM, Randy OrtonTM, Bray WyattTM and Shinsuke NakamuraTM, among others.

The company is also said to consider airing the show on the WWE Network, but that remains to be seen.

What's next?

If The Undertaker does return for the Greatest Royal Rumble, it will mark his first non-televised event since October 15, 2015, when he teamed with Kane to take on Braun Strowman and Luke Harper.

Author's take

WWE is trying to pull out all stops for this show and it looks good on paper. Hopefully, an event of this magnitude can end up on the WWE Network.
