This might not be good...

What's the story?

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were sent home from the European tour and a lot of fans busted the internet wide open with theories.

Some of them might have been way more atrocious than others. But Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that Owens and Zayn were actually sent home due to not following creative's direction on SmackDown.

In case you didn't know...

A good pro wrestling storyline is a give and take situation. Sometimes you have to lose heat one week in order to get it back the next.

If you go into business for yourself and act against creative's direction it could be a bad time even if it makes you look stronger in the televised moment.

The heart of the matter...

SmackDown's opening segment in Manchester saw Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn come out to the ramp and get a huge rise from the crowd. Chats were heavy all night, but they were especially thick for these two.

The back-and-forth during the first part of the show resulted in a match between Kofi Kingston and Sami Zayn. After the match was over and Kingston came away with the victory, Kevin Owens jumped in to assault Kofi Kingston but The New Day jumped in and ran the two heels off.

But Pro Wrestling Sheet reports Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn weren't supposed to run off, instead, they were supposed to take some punishment from The New Day in order to put them over by getting a beat down of some sort. The insider term of this is to "feed" your opponent.

But instead of feeding The New Day, Owens and Zayn simply powdered off and exited up the ramp instead. Pro Wrestling sheet also said people have told them The Prizefighter and the Underdog From The Underground have been slightly difficult to work with backstage and they haven't seemed very happy lately. Those two were pretty close to Jimmy Jacobs and Neville who have recently left the company which is also worth noting.

SI reports this was also a decision approved by Vince McMahon himself to kick them off the remainder of the tour.

PW Insider also reports that Kevin Owens was complaining loudly about the incident on the tour bus following the show. Although one person noted to PW Insider that this wasn't that big of a deal, another said it was the last straw and forced WWE's hand.

What's next?

Hopefully, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens will be back on the road very soon. They might have to eat some crow on television if prior history is any indication of how WWE will deal out a receipt for this action.

Author's take

It seems Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn went from being the hottest heel tandem after Hell In A Cell to a comedy duo. It would be amazing if WWE could let these two really do their thing.

But if the heat is coming from Vince McMahon, who knows how long it might take to extinguish this fire.
