What's the story?

It was revealed earlier this month that Paul Heyman would be the man inducting Goldberg into the WWE Hall of Fame next Friday night, many fans thought that this was a strange choice, but it seems that WWE has a good reason for choosing Heyman over many other stars.

In case you didn't know...

Paul Heyman was ringside for Goldberg's last WWE match when he was defeated by Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania last year but even though the duo worked on opposite sides throughout that feud, there was never a time when they were able to come together on WWE TV.

It was a strange choice when it was revealed that one of the best promo deliverers in WWE was going to be giving a speech at the Hall of Fame ceremony this year, but what was unknown about the whole situation is the fact that Heyman has helped Goldberg so much throughout his recent WWE career.

The heart of the matter

The Wrestling Observer's latest episode noted that one of the key reasons why Heyman was considered to be the perfect candidate for this position was because of the mutual respect that was gained when the duo worked together throughout last year's WrestleMania season.

Heyman worked with Goldberg on the promos and angles throughout his feud with Brock Lesnar and it seems that this sparked a friendship between the two men. After Goldberg returned at Survivor Series back in 2016, he went through a number of months of working with Lesnar and Heyman and it seems that this is one of the main reasons why Heyman was seen as the right person to welcome Goldberg into the 2018 class.

What's next?

Paul Heyman will induct Goldberg into the WWE Hall of Fame next Friday night, the former Universal Champion is the headliner for this year's class and it is set to be one of the highlights of the night.

Author's take

Paul Heyman is one of the best talkers in WWE right now and it's fantastic that he's going to be part of the Hall of Fame ceremony, it will definitely give the WWE Universe something to look forward to since Heyman has been known to steal the show on the microphone.
