From the WWE Rumor Mill: Roman Reigns' post WrestleMania Universal Title Feud revealed

What's next for Roman Reigns, after WrestleMania 34?
What's next for Roman Reigns, after WrestleMania 34?

What's the story?

It is believed that the most polarizing superstar in WWE, Roman Reigns, will win the Elimination Chamber match this weekend, and go on to defeat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 to become the Universal Champion. Who's next in line for him, after he stands tall at WrestleMania?

According to Wrestling Observer Radio (as reported by Cageside Seats), we're in for a program between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. The Shield Brothers will do battle over the top prize in the RAW brand.

In case you didn't know...

Brock Lesnar won the Universal Championship from the former champion, Goldberg, at WrestleMania 33, and has been undefeated for almost a year.

While he is not scheduled to defend his Universal Championship at the Elimination Chamber, seven men will battle to determine the Number 1 contender.

These men are Seth Rollins, John Cena, Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, Elias, The Miz and Roman Reigns.

The heart of the matter

While Seth Rollins was an integral member of the tag team championship picture in recent months, it seemed that he had slipped a peg or two from the time when he was a dominant singles player.

This week's gauntlet match was almost a resurgence of sorts for Rollins, who eliminated both Roman Reigns and John Cena, the two biggest stars in WWE right now.

It is clear that he's being groomed to be a top singles performer in the coming months. Maybe the reason is to make him look strong, as he enters a program with Reigns.

What's interesting is that both Reigns and Rollins are babyfaces, and except in rare circumstances, WWE is known to shirk away from having babyfaces face one another.

What's next?

Seven men will battle it out to face the Beast for the top prize in WWE. Join us for live coverage of Elimination Chamber, as it happens. Of course, the belief is that Reigns will win the big match.

Author's take

I can get behind Reigns vs. Rollins. We've seen them battle in the past, of course, but these two men almost always deliver between the ropes.

I wonder if this means that we're not getting a Shield reunion when Dean Ambrose finally comes back.
