From the WWE rumor mill: Rumor killer on WWE Doctors clearing Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan enters the ring last week on SmackDown Live to discuss Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn with Shane McMahon...

What's the story?

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio recently took to Twitter to address the health rumors regarding SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan. He would post two tweets regarding those rumors as seen below:

In case you didn't know...

Daniel Bryan last wrestled in the WWE on the April 16th edition of SmackDown Live in 2015 when he teamed with John Cena to defeat the then WWE Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Tyson Kidd. On the July 18th edition of SmackDown Live in 2016, Commissioner Shane McMahon appointed Bryan as the new General Manager.

The heart of the matter

Bryan has said himself that several doctors have cleared him to return to the ring, but he has yet to get clearance from the WWE doctors. Reports came out of the past couple of weeks, that the WWE is going to look into the matter once again of Bryan returning to the ring.

Those reports may have started false rumors that Bryan would enter this year's Royal Rumble (a piece of speculation I had not heard of until now). It's clear the WWE Universe wants to see him back in the ring, and with Bryan's contract ending around the fall of 2018, I'm sure the WWE wants to take another look so they don't risk losing him to a competitor.

What's next?

Stay tuned to Sportskeeda for any further updates on the potential in-ring return of Daniel Bryan. For the time being, he is still the General Manager of SmackDown Live and he's currently dealing with a defiant Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn ahead of the next SmackDown pay per view, Clash Of The Champions, on December 17th.

Author's take

I'm pretty confident that Daniel Bryan will wrestle again. The big question mark is if it is in the WWE or Ring Of Honor.

I would really love to see Bryan turn heel and join Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, but the odd thing is the WWE Universe would cheer him and can easily boo Shane McMahon. It is still an intriguing angle that would be amazing.
