What’s the Story?

A report published in PWInsider has potential spoilers for SmackDown Live that include plans for a No.1 Contender’s match, a tag team match and news of the continuation of a feud from Hell in a Cell.

In Case You Didn’t Know

The preview for SmackDown via WWE.com has two matches booked for this week’s episode as Ms Money in the Bank Carmella faces off against Becky Lynch and Baron Corbin defends his newly won United States Championship against the former champion AJ Styles.

Also teased for Smackdown, is Sami Zayn explaining his action from the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view and a possible interview or segment involving The Usos.

The Heart of the Matter

PWInsider reports that a Tag Team No. 1 Contender’s match could take place between Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin and The New Day to determine the challengers for The Usos’ SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

Another tag team match rumoured to take place could see Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton team up to take on Rusev and Aiden English.

The last rumour on this week’s SmackDown Live says that a segment is planned between Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler to continue their feud.

What’s Next?

With no SmackDown pay-per-views on the horizon, the programs being set up or continued will more than likely play out on television and/or culminate at Survivor Series.

Last year’s Survivor Series was built around both brands fighting to prove which was the top show and this year’s match could see some unlikely partners coming together.

Author’s Take

The Hell in a Cell pay-per-view left fans with a lot of questions and hopefully, there will be some answers by the end of the show.

The status of the WWE Championship and the Women’s Championship are still in the air something interesting is surely planned for those titles going forward.
