What’s the story?

Per Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Rock has likely received clearance from the movie studios he’s under contract with, in order to perform at WrestleMania 34.

However, it was noted that The Rock’s performance would come in a non-wrestling capacity—a few details of which were briefly discussed.

In case you didn’t know…

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is considered to be one of the WWE’s top performers and an all-time-great in the world of professional wrestling.

The Rocky transitioned from the WWE to a full-time career in Hollywood in the mid-2000s, gradually becoming Hollywood’s leading star—a position he’s held over the past few years.

The heart of the matter

One ought to note that The Rock—who’s extremely busy with his Hollywood obligations throughout the year—is under contract with the movie studios that produce his movies/TV shows, etc., which in turn involves considerable insurance money & legal terms/conditions involved in any physical activity he may undertake, particularly if it’s something as dangerous as pro-wrestling.

Expounding upon The Rock’s likeliness of appearing at WrestleMania 34, veteran journalist Bryan Alvarez explained that Rocky could appear at ‘Mania and partake in a segment & concert with Elias.

Additionally, Alvarez noted that while the WWE has not promoted The Rock’s WrestleMania 34 appearance beforehand, he still could surprise fans in a big way at the event.

Furthermore, Alvarez emphasized that while The Rock hasn’t got clearance to wrestle at the event, he has been cleared to appear at WrestleMania 34.

What’s next?

The WWE’s WrestleMania 34 PPV takes place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 8th.

Fans can expect The Rock to appear in a non-wrestling capacity at the event.

Author’s take

An intriguing possibility at WrestleMania 34 is that The Rock—despite not being cleared to compete—may dole out just a couple of his signature moves without taking any bumps himself.

After all, he did something similar against Erick Rowan at WrestleMania 32.

Regardless, it’s always great to have the Brahma Bull back “home”.
