What’s the story?
According to a recent report by Squared Circle Sirens, up and coming British superstar Miss Xia Brookside was apparently spotted backstage at the Full Sail University during the latest set of NXT tapings in Winter Park, Florida.
In case you didn’t know…
18-year-old Xia Brookside trained at Brookside's School of Wrestling in Leicester and initially made her in-ring Professional Wrestling debut back in May, 2015 for an Independent promotion called First Class Pro Wrestling.
Xia, who is the daughter of Merseyside Wrestling legend and current NXT trainer Robbie Brookside, has also competed for some notable Independent promotions such as Scotland’s Insane Championship Wrestling, where she has previously challenged for the ICW Women’s Title.
Throughout her developmental years, Xia has been training under the observant eye of Dean Allmark at Birkenhead's All-Star Wrestling and with Liverpool-based Infinite Promotion's head trainer ‘Gypsy’ John Kenny.
The heart of the matter
Current IPW: UK Women’s Champion Xia Brookside is currently fresh-off a recent tour of Japan, where she recently competed for top Puroresu promotion called World Wonder Ring Stardom and also defended the IPW: UK Women’s Title against different set of competitors, in doing so Xia also made history by becoming the first ever Professional Wrestler to defend the belt in Japan.
Following her groundbreaking tour of Japan, Squared Circle Sirens has now reported that NXT trainer Robbie Brookside’s daughter Xia was recently backstage at the Full Sail University, where she seemingly attended the recent set of NXT tapings in the build-up to NXT TakeOver: Chicago II.
What’s next?
Xia Brookside’s presence in an NXT arena certainly shouldn’t come in as a big surprise, considering the fact that the international UK star’s father has been working as a major and influential figure backstage at NXT.
However, on the other hand, it’ll also be interesting to keep an eye out for Xia as she continues to work her way to the top in the world of Pro Wrestling and also, a future with the WWE could very well be on the cards for the 18-year-old.
Xia Brookside is also scheduled to compete at RISE later this week against Deonna Purrazzo.

Xia Brookside is currently one of my favorite female superstars and her recent set of matches in Stardom were absolutely amazing and are definitely worth checking out as well. Personally, I hope that we get to see her work for a major promotion sometime down the line.
