From the WWE Rumor Mill: Update on Mick Foley, Edge & Christian appearing on RAW 25

A classic comedic trio

What’s the story?

It was noted that WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley's status for the 25th Anniversary special of RAW this Monday was up in the air due to a scheduling conflict. Mick revealed that WWE had contacted him about an appearance and that he was trying to make it work. Reports now suggest that Foley will likely not be able to appear on the historic show.

Another name that has been ruled out is WWE Hall of Famer Edge. The 'Rated R Superstar' is currently in Ireland filming for the History channel's Vikings series. However, Edge's legendary tag team partner Christian is said to be making an appearance on the show.

In case you didn’t know…

Mick Foley seemed very positive as recently as Monday that he would be able to appear on the show. Mick said on Monday:

"I've been invited, I'm trying to clear out time from something I had already committed to. Whether I'm there in person or not, I believe I will be there in spirit. This show literally changed my life. It was such a big part of my life. Not just from the time I was on it. I'm almost always watching on Monday night with my children, so it has been a big part of my life, whether I'm on the show or not."

Obviously Mick wasn't able to get out of his previous commitment. Edge has been doing so much filming in Ireland lately that many believe he now owns property there. Edge films in Bray, Co. Wicklow, where Finn Balor grew up.

The heart of the matter

It is a shame Mick and Edge are unavailable but both have obligations to fulfill. Christian is said to be appearing on the show in some capacity and that is still very good news. While Christian's best moment on RAW was with Edge, as when he was nicknamed 'Captain Charisma' from 2003 - 2005, Christian provided some choice matches and moments on RAW, most notably his tag team and feud with Chris Jericho and Trish Stratus in 2004.

What’s next?

The WWE Raw 25th Anniversary show takes place next Monday on the 22nd of January 2018 in both the Barclays Center and Manhattan Center in New York.

Author’s take

It is a shame Mick and Edge cannot appear but having Christian is still pretty damn good. Christian was one of WWE's best and most underrated performers during his solo run on RAW. The night is still shaping up to be one of the biggest and best in history.
