From the WWE rumor mill:  WWE puts plans on a big angle on hold

Is
Is Goldust transforming from wrestler to manager?

What's the story?

After Goldust's short feud with his former tag team partner R-Truth ended, he promised to unveil a masterpiece. It appeared he was teasing becoming a manager for an up and coming wrestler, and he was going to make this reveal at SummerSlam, but it never happened.

A fan asked Goldust on Twitter about the tease of a new story line, and he was kind enough to respond with an honest update:

In case you didn't know...

In 1996, the early inception of Goldust in the WWE had a manager by the name of Marlena. Her real name is Terri Runnels, and she was his wife at the time. The partnership in the WWE would last until 1998 when they would split and Luna Vachon became Goldust's new manager.

The heart of the matter...

Weeks before SummerSlam, Goldust said of his masterpiece "will I find my next hero, my next villain, or perhaps a beautiful new starlet?" A vague tease that left fans wondering.

It was a very intriguing tease, so it wasn't out of the ordinary for a fan to wonder what happened. Thankfully it seems that they are still working out the details with creative and not rushing the story out, but the tone of Goldust's tweet suggests that the project is not dead yet.

What's next?

It is unknown what is next for Goldust on Monday Night Raw. His last appearance was on August 28th as he took part in the battle royal to determine a #1 contender for The Miz's Intercontinental Championship.

Author's take...

Being a fan of managers in pro wrestling, I was excited at the prospect of Goldust transitioni into one and adopting a protegé. I hope the delay is to just make sure they have a good story in place because I think this idea could be a big one for the WWE.

As for who Goldust would manage is very hard to predict. He teased it could be a babyface, a heel, or even someone in the women's division.

A rumored Superstar Shake-up makes it even harder to predict, but if it is a current Raw star, possibly this is a great place to re-debut Summer Rae for Goldust to manage.
