From the WWE Rumour Mill: Another title change before WWE Survivor Series 2017?

Could Charlotte head into Survivor Series as SmackDown Women's Champion?
Could Charlotte head into Survivor Series as SmackDown Women's Champion?

What's the story?

With Survivor Series 2017 just over a week away, it looks like there may be yet another title change on SmackDown Live. With Charlotte set to challenge Natalya on the go-home show of SmackDown Live, it seems like there is a chance that "The Queen" could head into Survivor Series as SmackDown Women's Champion.

In case you didn't know

WWE fans were shocked last week when AJ Styles defeated Jinder Mahal to win the WWE Championship, the first time the WWE Championship has ever changed hands outside of North America. Styles will now face Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series instead of Mahal.

The heart of the matter

If Charlotte wins the SmackDown Women's Championship, she will head into Survivor Series to face her counterpart from RAW, Alexa Bliss, while Nattie slots into the Survivor Series match. The reason behind the thinking seems to be that WWE want to keep Asuka undefeated and don't want Team SmackDown to look weak either.

Apart from that, they also want to keep Charlotte and Asuka apart for as long as possible.

What's next?

Charlotte will challenge Natalya for the SmackDown Women's Championship this Tuesday on SmackDown Live. Can Charlotte win the title?

Author's take

If these rumours turn out to be true, it will be a good decision. Asuka needs to be kept undefeated as long as possible. Keeping her away from Charlotte is also the right decision, it could lead to a big-money match down the road between the two most dominant women in WWE.
