Dolph Ziggler’s current contract with the WWE is slated to expire sometime this summer and, according to PW Insider, ‘The Showoff’ has not signed a new deal with the company yet

Dolph Ziggler has been an integral part of the WWE landscape for over a decade and has locked horns with the best in the business. On last week’s episode of Raw, he was drafted from SmackDown Live to the red brand as part of the Superstar Shakeup.

The heart of the matter

As per the PW Insider, Ziggler's contract with the WWE runs out this summer and he is yet to ink a new deal with the company. The former World Heavyweight Champion has not been booked very well in recent times and this could be one of the reasons behind this reluctance in re-signing with the company.

However, the recent decision to pair him the ‘Prodigal Son’ indicates that the higher-ups may have some long-term plans for him. And, if this is indeed the case, Ziggler may sign a new deal in the near future. Either way, this is pretty much a wait and watch situation.

Ziggler is a champ when it comes to selling offence and can do a decent job on the mic as well. Despite these qualities, he has been booked as a mid-carder for the better part of his career. In other words, the WWE creative has underutilized him.

If he signs a new deal with the WWE, it will be worth watching whether his booking does justice to his potential
