What's the story?

WWE is a company which thrives on surprising its audience, be it with storylines, returns or debuts, the company likes to keep the fans on their toes. WWE fans better watch out as it seems likely that the company will have another surprise ready for the coming weeks.

According to PW Insider (H/T Wrestling Inc), Raw Superstar, Jason Jordan is set to return to WWE this month.

In case you didn't know...

Jason Jordan received a huge push soon after Kurt Angle came to WWE as the General Manager of Raw. In a storyline that has since received a lot of criticism, Jordan was booked as the illegitimate son of the Raw General Manager.

Angle granted his "son" a lot of chances in the ring, and offered him matches, while Jordan set about trying to prove his ability to his father. Even though Jordan got the chance to face top stars, he fell short in many of his matches. When Dean Ambrose was injured and had to take time off to heal, Jordan replaced him as Seth's tag team partner. The duo went on to win the Raw Tag Team Championships, which they, unfortunately, lost at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

He then cost Rollins and Reigns a rematch for the Titles and was sent home by his father. This was so that he could be written off the storyline and have surgery for his injuries.

The heart of the matter

According to reports by PW Insider, Jason Jordan is set to return to action this month. He suffered a neck injury earlier in the year and had to undergo neck surgery on the 5th of February.

Jordan may return to the ring any time in the coming weeks, as early as next week. As of yet, there is no news regarding the manner in which he will return.

Before he suffered the injury, it looked like WWE was preparing Jordan for a heel turn. When he returns he is likely to continue the storyline of being Angle's illegitimate son.

What's next?

Jordan's former partner, Chad Gable was signed onto Raw in the Superstar Shakeup. When Jordan returns it will be interesting to see the how two interact and if they re-form American Alpha.

Author's take

Jordan's last run in WWE with Rollins had him booked as the irritating inexperienced partner who often cost Rollins the match. Since Jordan's injury, Rollins has moved on and become one of the top stars in the company and is currently the IC Champion.

Jordan will have to find a way to fit into a storyline if he hopes to appear on television on a regular basis.
