From the WWE Rumour Mill: Update on Alexa Bliss' injury status

Alexa Bliss is back in action, once again!
Alexa Bliss is back in action, once again!

What's the story?

Alexa Bliss was unsuccessful in winning the RAW Women's Championship at Backlash 2018. It later came to light that The Goddess may have sustained an injury as well.

However, things seem to be back on track as Alexa Bliss competed in the first night of the ongoing WWE UK tour. Cageside Seats speculates that she's either recovered or it was a storyline injury.

In case you didn't know...

Alexa Bliss took on Nia Jax at Backlash for the RAW Women's Championship. Following the match, WWE put out the following announcement:

Alexa Bliss suffered an injury to her left shoulder during her Raw Championship Match against Nia Jax at WWE Backlash. Bliss is currently awaiting further medical evaluation.

The WWE Universe pounced upon Nia Jax and called her an unsafe worker, to which she responded with the following Tweet:

The heart of the matter

WWE is in the United Kingdom for a string of Live Events as well as RAW and SmackDown Live. On the first night of the tour, Nia Jax defended her title against Bliss and Bayley. Jax was successful in defending her championship.

Bliss was back in action and this makes us wonder if it was just a storyline to get people buzzing, thereby furthering the feud between Jax and her former best friend. Maybe Bliss did actually suffer an injury but was cleared right before the Live Event.

What's next?

More details about Bliss' condition should be made clear on RAW this week. If the injury is never mentioned, we can assume that the damage wasn't too serious. If it is mentioned, chances are it'll be made part of a future storyline.

Author's take

I'm glad to hear that Bliss is okay. I'm a big fan of hers and if you've read my 'Best and Worst' series, you know how big a fan I really am!

I'd love to see Bliss turn the injury into a storyline, like Eddie Edwards and Sami Callihan have at Impact Wrestling!
