The Game helped Kevin Owens become Universal Champion in 2016.

From the moment Kevin Owens joined WWE, The Prizefighter was closely linked to The Game. Joining the Game's project NXT in late 2014, Owens showed a ruthlessness (even towards his friends), that paralleled Triple H's own rise to the top of the WWE years prior.

Perhaps the biggest connection the pair have is that it was Owens who captured the Universal Championship as a result of HHH betraying Seth Rollins in August 2016. From that point on, it became obvious that a match between the two should take place one day, though the company has had the two keep their distance since then.

That could all change soon though, as Owens’ new Austin-esque persona putting him at odds with The Cerebral Assassin's brother-in-law Shane McMahon, meaning a match between KO and The Game isn't out of the question.
