What’s the story?

Chris Masters was a WWE Superstar with a lot of promise. He had the look, the personality, and a pretty cool gimmick. Not only that, but his entrance was pretty impressive as well as his incredible physique. Long story short, he seemingly had everything it takes to be a top WWE Superstar.

Adonis recently had a conversation with Raj from Wrestling Inc where he revealed some of the main differences this time around for the former Masterpiece. He's with GFW now and he sounded very happy about that fact.

In case you didn’t know…

After Chris Masters' weekly challenge segment was dispatched with he kind of got lost in the shuffle for a while. Although Chris managed to achieve his fair share of career highlights with WWE, in the end, things didn't work out for him there.

Chris is no longer "Masters" and made his Global Force Wrestling debut as Chris Adonis. Now he is ironically back with Bobby Lashley, only each of them has done a lot since 2007.

The heart of the matter

Chris Adonis spoke about GFW and really put the promotion over for having their ducks in a row. He praised the direction they were headed as a company and seemed happy to be part of an organization where everyone wants to do everything they can to ensure success.

"It's very exciting to be part of a promotion that has such room for growth. Yeah, went through our reboot, but what I see right now is an organization that's coming together. It's trimmed a lot of the fat, we know the direction that we're going. Everybody's hungry, everybody wants to do their part."

He also spoke about some of the differences between Global Force Wrestling and WWE. In the end, it's not just about the size but also the atmosphere.

Masters referred to WWE as "the big machine" and he's not far off. If you're a part of the massive WWE structure then you're either a very successful cog or a spring that can be easily discarded. Adonis obviously feels more at home in GFW at this juncture. He certainly sounds like he feels more appreciated.

"For me, this is exciting to be a part of something like this, and not necessarily be a part of the big machine where you could get lost in the shuffle so quickly."

Everyone working in the organisation has big plans for Global Force Wrestling. Chris Adonis praised the work ethic of the people who are tirelessly striving the make GFW the best wrestling company it can be.

What's next?

GFW is looking for more involvement overseas as well as establishing themselves as one of the premier wrestling companies in North America as well. Needless to say, Adonis sounds thrilled to be a part of it.

"I think with the people we have running the office now, and the talent that we have to work with and everybody getting off in the right direction, this is exciting to see what we can do in the future. It's exciting to see how we can propel Impact Wrestling and really make it a good alternative to any other wrestling programs out there."

Author’s take

Global Force Wrestling might be fighting a bit of an uphill battle to distance themselves from the stigma associated with their former labels like TNA and Impact Wrestling. Not only did TNA have an obvious sexual undertone which isn't attractive to advertisers at all, but Impact Wrestling had that famous Broken war with the Hardys which seems to never have an ending in sight.

But with a new staff in place and Dixie Carter out of the picture, things seem to be looking up for GFW.

With people like Chris Adonis and the rest of the personnel, GFW was able to switch up in the last few months, they have a real fighting chance to turn things around. If everybody is able to work together and put out the best wrestling product they can, it will eventually do wonders in regaining some of the fanbases they lost due to the shenanigans of the previous regimes.
