What's the story?

Alberto El Patrón is returning back to GFW Impact. In the latest GFW media conference call with GFW creative, it was revealed by John Gaburick that El Patrón will be making his return at the Bound for Glory PPV event.

In case you didn't know...

Alberto El Patrón debuted for GFW (known as TNA back then) back in March 2017 and had a good run of about five months. He was suspended by GFW due to a personal domestic violence issue with his real-life girlfriend Paige.

On August 14, he was stripped of the Unified GFW World Heavyweight Championship.

The heart of the matter

GFW has been under turmoil in the recent times due to financial constraints, forcing them to tape about a month's worth of content before hand.

"We have plans for Alberto. We're excited that he's gonna be coming back at Bound For Glory," said John Gaburick on GFW conference call.

The return of a big ticket superstar like Alberto El Patrón is a welcome boost to the company's future, at least for the time being. He brings much-needed credibility to the roster with his previous run as a GFW World Heavyweight Champion.

The conference call with the media consisted of GFW Creative team members John Gaburick, Sonjay Dutt and Scott D'Amore.

What's next?

Bound for Glory will take place on November 5, 2017, in Orlando, Florida. This will be the 13th edition of the PPV.

Author's Take

Considering the fact that GFW has been suffering financially and the future is looking bleak for them, the return of a star of the magnitude of Alberto El Patrón is a positive news.

Currently, Eli Drake is the GFW Global Champion since the World Heavyweight Title was rechristened after El Patrón's departure. Alberto El Patron is a solid worker as he has proven over the years and will surely elevate the GFW Global Championship program.
