GFW News: Trevor Lee wins the GFW X Division Championship

What's the story?

In the latest episode of GFW Impact, Trevor Lee won the GFW X Division Championship from Sonjay Dutt thanks to an assist from Caleb Konley, in a Falls Count Anywhere match.

In case you didn't know...

Dutt won the title back in May defeating Low Ki on an Impact episode from India, which aired in mid-June.

Sonjay Dutt partnered with Petey Williams last week and defeated Trevor Lee and Caleb Konley in a tag team match.

This week they faced each other in a Falls Count Anywhere Match for the X-Division Championship.

The heart of the matter

Trevor Lee won the GFW X Division Championship against Sonjay Dutt on tonight's episode of GFW Impact. This is the third time Lee has won the title.

At the start of the match, Dutt threw Lee through the barricade and into the crowd. Soon the fight went over to the backstage area, where Caleb Konley got involved. Both him and Lee attacked Dutt with trash cans.

Lee looked to finish off Dutt with a final trash can shot but inadvertently hit Konley. Dutt went for the tornado DDT but Lee countered it and sent Dutt into a steel barricade. Lee rolled up Dutt and pinned him, to become the new X-Division champion.

What's next?

Sonjay Dutt is expected to come back and challenge Lee for the title which he held for a span of 81 days. Both of them will continue their feud. Konley's involvement meant Lee's advantage in the feud has made it more exciting.

Sonjay Dutt won the title and was the Champion for a long time.He defeated Lee in a ladder match at Destination X. Lee winning means it evens up the score and Dutt will soon bounce back from the loss and set his sights on the title again.
