At WWE Bad Blood 2024, World Heavyweight Champion Gunther shared a moment with professional wrestling legend Bill Goldberg. In this exchange, Gunther took several shots at the WCW legend, which forced Goldberg to jump over the barricade and make an attempt to confront Gunther.
However, before he could do the same, security defused the situation. Since this moment took place between the two men, WWE fans have been speaking about a potential match between Gunther and Goldberg. However, instead of that, there is a chance Goldberg could team up with Sami Zayn to face Imperium.
The reason this could happen is that while Goldberg did not get the opportunity to get his hands on Gunther, Sami Zayn made an appearance at Bad Blood and attacked the World Heavyweight Champion. This attack comes before Zayn challenges Gunther for his title on RAW tonight.
Also, another reason why a tag team match between the two is possible is because, in a singles match, Gunther would most likely dominate Goldberg. It might be hard for the latter to keep up with Gunther because the World Heavyweight Champion is known to fight long bouts. Hence, a tag team match would be a safer option.
Amidst taking shots at WWE legends, Gunther recently appreciated a legendary figure
Recently, World Heavyweight Champion Gunther has taken shots at several WWE legends. While this began with Gunther first insulting Bret Hart, it continued at Bad Blood when he insulted Goldberg. However, amidst these insults, Gunther recently had words of praise for a wrestling legend.
The wrestling legend in question is WWE CCO and Creative Head Triple H. During a recent interview with Metro UK, The Ring General said that The Game always supported him and also detailed his role.
Gunther said:
"He always supported me and saw something in me. In general, I think he is somebody that is very disciplined when it comes to his long-term goals with certain people and sticking to them. I don’t know if I would be here without ever being more or less connected with Triple H in that sense. At the end of the day, Triple H right now, he’s our matchmaker, he’s the head of creative. And what that role kinda is in our sport is like, he’s the head coach to what a football team would be."
Gunther is not wrong when he says Triple H supported him because, under The Game, The Ring General has been booked very well. It will be interesting to see how Triple H continues to book the Austrian superstar in the near future.
