What's the story?

WWE Superstar Goldust took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon and posted a very heartfelt message to the fans and more specifically those in the locker room.

The message was too large for even the new character limit, so Goldust took a screenshot of his message and posted it.

In case you didn't know...

As most wrestling fans know, Goldust is known as Dustin Runnels, the son of The American Dream Dusty Rhodes and brother of Cody Rhodes.

Goldust made his professional wrestling debut in 1988 with Championship Wrestling from Florida.

A year later he signed with the recently rebranded WCW when Ted Turner purchased the company from Jim Crockett.

The heart of the matter...

Take a look at the message from Goldust below:

There was so much said in this short message by Goldust. First off he thanks all of the fans who have loved and hated him over the past 30 years.

If you follow Goldust on Twitter at all, you will definitely find out that even in 2018 the fans are passionate about his involvement in the business.

He also sends a message to those on the WWE roster that he is here to pass on his 30 years of pro wrestling wisdom on to anyone that is willing to listen.

Just like veterans in the industry were there for him when he was getting started, he wants to be there for the younger talent.

Goldust also acknowledges that the WWE roster is completely stacked right now between Monday Night Raw, SmackDown Live, and NXT. His door is open and all someone has to do is ask.

Some speculated that this was a retirement speech, but Goldust was quick to deny that rumour with a follow-up tweet:

What's next?

It is unknown what is next for Goldust, but with the Superstar Shakeup coming to an end with SmackDown Live on Tuesday evening, it is possible that there could be a new direction for The Bizarre One.

With Paige having to retire from in-ring competition, it is possible that Absolution may split and the popular WWE Mixed Match Challenge team of Rose Gold with Mandy Rose could resume.

Author's take...

That was truly a tremendous message that Goldust sent to his fans and his colleagues. He continues to work a decent amount of matches, and still gets great pops when he enters the ring. I'm looking forward to seeing more from Goldust in 2018.
