Impact Wrestling News: Impact Wrestling threaten to ban fans who wear a particular t-shirt released by Reby Hardy

Senor Benjamin can be seen sporting the t-shirt in question

What’s the story?

Former Impact Wrestling star and Matt Hardy’s wife Reby Hardy was told by fans on Twitter that Impact Wrestling officials have been threatening to ban them from attending the company’s events if they enter the arena wearing a particular t-shirt that was released by Reby.

In case you didn’t know...

Reby Sky (real name- Rebecca Victoria Hardy) and the rest of the Hardy family including her husband Matt, her son Maxel, her father who goes by the name Senor Benjamin and Jeff Hardy performed for Impact and claim to have conceptualized the Broken gimmick that got wildly popular last year, and to date is regarded as one of the best gimmicks in pro-wrestling currently.

The Hardys parted ways with Impact Wrestling earlier this year and have been embroiled in a legal battle with the company’s new owners Anthem Sports and Entertainment over the Broken gimmick ever since.

The heart of the matter

Both parties have been levying accusation against one another, and Reby Sky, on her part, has taken to social media quite frequently as of late to voice her displeasure with Impact Wrestling. Sky released a new line of t-shirts a few weeks back with the tagline – “Fu** That Owl” – with the ‘owl’ in question being the owl logo that the company briefly used after the change of ownership in late-2016.

Professional wrestling fans have been sporting the aforementioned t-shirt at several Impact Wrestling, indie promotions as well as WWE events, in support of the Hardys fight against Impact. Several fans who’ve contacted Reby on her official Twitter handle have alleged that Impact has been turning away fans who wear the apparel.

Another fan went as far as claiming that the Hardy supporters at the Impact event started chanting “fu** that ban” in response to the security officials’ threats to remove them from the arena.

What’s next?

Matt and Jeff Hardy returned to WWE at Wrestlemania 33 where they won the RAW Tag Team Championships – titles that they are scheduled to defend on April 30th against the team of Sheamus and Cesaro.

The Hardys are presently under contract with the WWE and are finishing up their indie dates to focus solely on their WWE run in the weeks to come.

Author’s take

What truly baffles me about this entire Impact vs. Hardy saga is that despite Impact having someone as experienced as Jeff Jarrett on board, they still seem to have chosen to pursue their war over the usage rights of the Broken gimmick.

Whatever the issues between the Hardys and Anthem are, I hope they’re sorted out deleted soon so we, the fans, can get to witness the sheer brilliance that is the charisma of His Excellence Matt Hardy.
