What’s the story?

During Impact Wrestling’s recent media call, Impact Wrestling star Johnny Impact aka John Morrison took a shot at his former promotion Lucha Libre AAA and its Director of Talent Vampiro.

In case you didn’t know…

After being signed by Lucha Libre AAA in 2015, Morrison made his debut for the company at the 2015 Lucha Libre World Cup where he represented Lucha Underground as part of Team TNA/Lucha Underground, alongside Matt Hardy and Mr. Anderson. Morrison was one of the most popular stars in AAA where he was crowned a Triple Champion Triple A, as the former WWE superstar managed to capture the AAA Mega Championship, the AAA Latin American Championship, and the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship as well.

However, in 2017, Morrison and his fiancée Taya Valkyrie, were both involved in a controversy with AAA and Vampiro, which eventually led to Taya’s departure from the promotion. A few weeks later, during an AAA show, Vampiro addressed the live crowd and stated that Taya was stripped off her Reina de Reinas Championship due to her not appearing to defend the title, despite not being scheduled by the promotion to make an appearance.

The heart of the matter

This past Friday, Impact Wrestling decided to host a media call during which John Morrison was asked if his beef against Triple A’s Vampiro had settled down or not. In reply, Morrison decided not to hold himself back as he claimed that his conflicts with Vampiro are still very much alive, and claimed that AAA has also been advertising Morrison for an upcoming show which takes place on January 26th.

"The office stooge Vampiro, the turd-cutter from AAA Vampiro? No, man. Actually, it's still going. They've got a show on the 26th of January that they've advertised me on, again, without asking."

Additionally, Morrison stated that he blames Vampiro for all of these recent misconducts and revealed that he is now pulling off the January 26 show.

What’s next?

Technically, Morrison is still under AAA contract, however, due to his on-going enmity with Vampiro and AAA, it is safe to assume that the former WWE Intercontinental Champion isn’t going to be appearing for the Mexican promotion any time soon. But, that being said, Impact Wrestling is still under a working relationship with Triple A as well as with Pro Wrestling NOAH, and Konnan’s Crash Wrestling—who also have some major issues going on with AAA.

Author’s take

In my opinion, both Morrison and Taya were heavily mistreated by AAA and there is no reason whatsoever for Morrison to return to the company in the future and work for Vampiro once again.
