What's the story?

Global Force Wrestling or GFW, the brainchild of Jeff Jarrett, merged with Impact Wrestling earlier this year, and the television product was called GFW Impact ever since.

With Jarrett's leave of absence from the company, due to personal reasons, it seems likely that the company has moved away from brand GFW. This was further indicated by the message on social media, put up by the current Knockouts Champion, Sienna.

In case you didn't know...

There have been a whole host of changes in the management and nomenclature of TNA/Impact Wrestling/GFW over the past year, and all of them are far too many to list here. Jarrett came to the brand in January, and brought the GFW titles in with him, as well.

The company decided to rebrand itself Global Force Wrestling around the time of Slammiversary.

However, recently it seems like the company has dropped the GFW moniker from recent press releases, referring to the company as Impact Wrestling.

The heart of the matter

Now that Jeff Jarrett is no longer in the thick of things anymore, it seems like the company will only be known as Impact Wrestling, in coming times. This assumption was further solidified by the sight of Sienna's Knockouts Championship, that makes no mention of GFW.

The creative and business direction of the company should become much clearer, following the Bound for Glory pay-per-view. It seems abundantly clear though, that the company will no longer return to the use of TNA anymore.

What's next?

Sienna is in for the match of her life at Bound for Glory as she takes on Gail Kim, Allie and Taryn Terrell.

Author's take

A rose by any other name may smell just as sweet, but if Impact Wrestling keeps changing its name, it may leave a sour taste in the mouth of fans. Let's hope that the company finds all the stability it deserves from the current management.
