What’s the story?

In a recent edition of Interactive Wrestling Radio, Taya Valkyrie talked about on a myriad of topics including her fiancé, Johnny Impact, Impact Wrestling, AAA and Lucha Underground.

On that note, Valkyrie asserted that competing in Impact Wrestling was amazing and the atmosphere and fans were completely different to other promotions such as AAA & LU.

Additionally, Valkyrie said that despite her highly-publicized fallout with AAA, she didn't begrudge anyone at the promotion; and in fact, she kept the door open for herself to work with AAA in the future.

In case you didn’t know…

Taya Valkyrie, whose real name is Kira Foster, is perhaps best known for her extensive work on the Mexican indie professional wrestling circuit, encompassing her time in notable organizations such as AAA (Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion) and Lucha Underground.

The 33-year-old had claimed in July of this year that she’d been betrayed by AAA management and unfairly stripped of the Reina de Reinas Championship; which was followed by her much-talked-about split from the company.

The heart of the matter

Taya Valkyrie talked about her split from AAA, stating that she still considered herself the face of Women’s Wrestling on the Mexican circuit and that she'd have no qualms about working with the promotion again.

Besides, she explained that, much like many other Lucha Underground loyalists, she hoped the organization resumed taping content for its fans sooner rather than later. Speaking of which, Taya heaped praise on her real-life partner, Johnny Mundo, pointing out the tireless work he put in for both at LU and Impact Wrestling. Furthermore, on working with Impact, she spoke about her connections with Jeff and Karen Jarrett, adding:

“For me, I've worked in AAA with Jeff and Karen (Jarrett) for many many years. We would always discuss me coming up and working with them and doing different projects with them (but there was never ever an opportunity to do so.”

“(Now) I hope to evolve with Impact for a long time—the women there are just so talented—everyone wants to have really good matches. I want to work with girls like that and I'm just really happy that I'm part of that locker room now."

What’s next?

Taya Valkyrie presently performs for Impact Wrestling as does her fiancée Johnny Mundo. The promotion's next big pay-per-view is Bound for Glory on November 07, 2017.

Author’s take

Taya is one of the most talented performers in the industry, and with LU tapings currently on the backburner, Impact Wrestling seems to be her best option.
