What’s the story?

Former WWE Superstar Brodus Clay, known as Tyrus, has revealed that he has parted ways with Impact Wrestling. Tyrus had returned to the promotion earlier this year, in January.

In case you didn’t know...

Tyrus joined the then TNA Wrestling in 2014, shortly after he was released from WWE, and had a 3 year run before parting ways with Impact in August, 2017. Tyrus was used as a bodyguard for this entire first run with Impact, first with EC3, then Matt Hardy, later Eli Drake and finally Bruce Prichard.

When Tyrus left Impact, he had announced that he had requested and received his release because the company wasn't treating him right. Tyrus returned to Impact Wrestling during their first set of tapings this year, back in January.

The heart of the matter

Tyrus announced this past Wednesday that he has once again officially departed Impact Wrestling. It appears he left for similar reasons, but also due to 'booking & utilisation issues'. Tyrus released the following statement regarding his departure.

'' 2014-2018 I have been a part @impactwrestling worked with a lot good people and for the most part enjoyed my time. Having said that... as I’ve grown ... they well.... ummm. change is good and there defiantly has been a lot of changes and today after much contemplation it time for me to move on from impact. Creatively we just don’t see eye to eye on anything and I beat @therealec3 so I’m good... I wish them well in there future endeavors... #nuffsaid ''

What's next?

Tyrus is already taking bookings for some independent shows.

Author's take

Judging by how he was used during the first set of Impact tapings this year, I thought things might have been different for him this time around, but obviously not. It is a shame, as Tyrus is one of the better bigger men in wrestling today.

Could WWE be interested in bringing him back, possibly reuniting him with EC3 again? Probably not, but stranger things have happened.
