Josh Matthews and Don Callis went over the injury that Brian Cage dealt with at Rebellion. The Machine was hurt after a Spanish Fly to the outside, where he landed awkwardly on the small of his back, losing some feeling in his legs. He managed to finish the match and pick up the Impact World Championship, only to be assaulted by Michael Elgin and planted with an Elgin Bomb.

Ace Austin vs Petey Williams

The Canadian audience sang the Canadian National Anthem, serenading Williams in the beginning of the match. A dropkick to Austin started off Williams, and he continued the momentum with a huge hurricanrana, sending Austin to the outside. However, as he went back in, an enziguri rocked him. He followed up with a suicide dive.

Petey Williams caught a kick from Austin on the apron, but Austin flipped out of his grips, connecting with a kick to the jaw. Back inside, Williams crotched Austin, setting him up in the Tree of Woe for the "Oh Canada" stomp. Austin quickly recovered, dropping Williams with a spider German suplex. A springboard kick to the face brought Williams down to the mat.

Austin locked Williams up in an wristlock, and as the ref was checking on the former X-Division Champion, Austin pulled out a card and slit the webbing between his fingers. Austin went for a leg drop but Williams dodged, going for a roll-up. Austin escaped but was met with a German suplex and a tilt-a-whirl Russian leg sweep.

Some pandering to the crowd allowed Austin to recover, dropping him with a belly to back slam and a spinning roundhouse kick. He drove Williams face first into the ground with a facebuster. Williams was able to counter the Fold with a powerbomb, and avoided a second facebuster, locking Austin in the Sharpshooter. Austin quickly scrambled to the ropes.

In the apron, Austin knocked Williams away with another kick and spiked him with a springboard Fameasser. Williams avoided another Fold, though, and planted the young star with a flatliner. Williams took him up top, but Austin dropped him from up high with a head scissors, finally finishing off the Impact legend with the Fold.

Results: Ace Austin defeated Petey Williams via pinfall.

A huge win for Austin, as he has an X-Division Championship opportunity this Sunday at Code Red.
