Impact Wrestling (TNA) Rumors: Jack Swagger hints at Zeb Colter reunion

We the people!

What’s the story?

As reported by Cageside Seats , former World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger has hinted at the possibility of reuniting with his former manager Zeb Colter. Swagger spoke about the issue during a recent interview with WrestleZone.

In case you didn’t know...

Swagger and Colter first aligned with one another back in early 2013, when Colter returned alongside Jack in their “We The People” gimmick. It started off well with Swagger becoming the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 29, however over time they continued to drop down the card until they were eventually split up.

The heart of the matter

The aforementioned report suggests that Swagger hinted at the idea of a reunion with Dutch “Zeb Colter” Mantell during the WZ interview. He will reportedly wait until his 90-day non-compete clause with WWE expires, at which point he will make a move over to Impact Wrestling, aka TNA, where Colter is currently plying his trade as a consultant.

What’s next?

For the time being, we’ll have to wait and see whether or not Jack will follow through on this, but considering the links he has at TNA, it does indeed seem likely. For now though, one of Swagger’s main focuses will be his upcoming appearances on House of Hardcore’s Australian tour. Thus far he’s been confirmed for a handful of dates around the country.

Author’s take

Some of Swagger’s best work was done alongside Colter, and it’s a shame that their initial partnership fell apart for several reasons. Hopefully, this can lead to Swagger recapturing some of his old magic after many years of being out of the spotlight, and who knows – maybe it’ll open Vince’s eyes to what a great talent Swagger actually is.

Then again, considering the quality that WWE possesses on both Raw and SmackDown Live right now, that may be nothing more than a pipe dream.
