What's the story?

After WWE.com confirmed last week that MMA’s 'Four Horsewomen' have arrived in WWE in full force" upon the newest hat Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke had reported to the Performance Center, news has emerged today that the pair is now signed to NXT.

In a backstage interview, pair addressed the speculation of a Four Horsewomen vs Four Horsewomen showdown.

In case you didn't know...

MMA's Four Horsewomen - Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler. Shafir and Duke - may have all started out in MMA, but their name is no coincidence as they named themselves over one of professional wrestling's most famous and successful stables of all time.

The Four Horsemen were a stable consisting of Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard and Ole Anderson with latter two would be replaced with other wrestlers throughout the years.

Well, Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey have both transitioned into WWE over the past year with Baszler becoming NXT Women's Champion and Rousey debuting at WrestleMania, but the only appearance we'd seen from Duke and Shafir was at the Mae Young Classic in an angle that hinted at a clash between the Four Horsewomen of MMA and the Four Horsewomen of NXT in the future.

Last week, WWE confirmed the faction had completed their move to WWE with the last two pieces of the puzzle reporting to the Performance Center:

Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir have joined their Four Horsewomen teammates Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler in making the move from mixed martial arts to sports-entertainment, reporting for training today at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

The heart of the matter

WWE today took to Twitter and WWE.com to post a video of Cathy Kelley interviewing WWE's two newest recruits from the world of MMA on what the future holds for them.

WWE.com details the pair as "NXT's two newest signees" on their website, and the pair were joined by Shafir's son, whose father is NXT Superstar Roderick Strong.

Cathy Kelley asked what we can expect from the May Young confrontations and speculation of a rivalry with Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Becky Lynch?

Shafir said. "All the training is gonna lead up to something, I hope." Meanwhile, Duke had a bit more to say on the matter.

I think you mean the ‘Faux’ Horsewomen. Not the Four Horsewomen, cause that’s us. So if they want to keep pushing that, that’s fine. But like she said... That training, now that we’re here, I think it’s all gonna end up somewhere.

You can watch the entire video below.

What's next?

While the pair have just arrived and will undergo extensive training, we could see them in NXT very soon.

We'll keep you updated on this one.

Author's take

Well, WWE ain't playing shy here - we're gearing up for a huge Four Horsewomen vs Four Horsewomen showdown in the future!

What's even better is Duke came across really well here. It'll be interesting to see if both women join Baszler or go their separate ways when they debut before joining up with their MMA counterpart at a future date.
