What's the story?

It was first reported today by TMZ.com that current WWE star Jimmy Uso, real name Jonathan Fatu, was arrested this morning on DUI charges in Escambia County, Florida.

According to a new report from WEARTV, Uso was taken into custody by police after failing a field sobriety test, and at one point became "uncooperative" with the arresting police officer.

In case you didn't know...

At 1:30 a.m. a deputy was dispatched in the area of Pine Forest and Nine Mile Road in Escambia County, FL, on suspicion of a drunk driver.

After Fatu was arrested and detained in an Escambia County jail, WEARTV reported Fatu was released on $1,000 bail. He's due to appear in court on August 15th to face the charges.

The heart of the matter

According to WEARTV, Jimmy Uso was pulled over in the area of Highway 97A and Brockwood Place, and when the arresting police officer approached Uso, the WWE star had "bloodshot, watery, droopy eyelids, dilated pupils long with slow and slurred speech," according to the police report.

The report furthers that the arresting police officer could smell alcohol on Uso's breath, and drove him to an adjacent parking lot to conduct a field sobriety test. After the police officer deemed Uso drunk, he placed him in handcuffs and instructed him to step into the patrol car.

The police report claims Uso became uncooperative with the arresting officer and had to be told several times to get into the patrol car. Once in the car, the WWE star reportedly demanded to speak with another deputy as he claimed to be "uncomfortable" with the arresting deputy. That request was denied.

What's next?

Jimmy Uso was officially arrested for driving while under the influence, cited for unlawful speeding and given a bond of $1,000. He will need to return to Escambia County on August 5th for a court hearing, and WWE issued the following statement to PWInsider.com on Uso's arrest:

"Jonathan Fatu is responsible for his own personal actions."
