What's the story?
The Lucha House Party were recently getting interviewed by Dasha Fuentes in a backstage segment. And then John Cena would interfere during the segment in a Lucha Libre mask.
Cena ended up doing the whole 'Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!' routine before the camera. The Lucha House Party ended up referring to him as Juanito, and muttering his catchphrase - 'you can't see me'!
In case you didn't know...
John Cena returned to action on the New Year edition of SmackDown Live. He had a run-in with Becky Lynch and even teamed up with her against Zelina Vega and Andrade 'Cien' Almas.
Cena would then move on to WWE RAW and have a brief altercation with Drew McIntyre. This would lead to a 6-man tag team match. Cena also announced that he would be a part of the Royal Rumble match this year.
The heart of the matter
John Cena has been the flagbearer for WWE through good times and bad, during his lengthy stint with the company. His short stint in WWE, before he resumes his movie duties will primarily be to put over new talent and help elevate them to main event status.
This little cameo with the Lucha House Party may look like a small deal, but it will definitely help the Lucha House Party get a lot more eyeballs and may get casual fans invested in them. What is more heartening is to see that John Cena is having fun upon his WWE return. One wonders what lies in store for him on WWE television this week.
What's next?
John Cena will be a part of the Royal Rumble match. Could he win the whole thing and maybe challenge 'the new Daniel Bryan' to a title match? It will be interesting to see how the match plays out.
