What's the story?

Jon Moxley, formerly known as WWE’s Dean Ambrose, made an instant impact at AEW Double or Nothing by attacking Chris Jericho and the referee before brawling with Kenny Omega at the end of the event.

Well, Moxley's first non-WWE booking has been confirmed,as he faces Pentagon Jr in August. Of course, there's a strong chance another match for Ambrose may be booked before this - but this one is even more interesting as wife Renee Young, still contracted to WWE, is booked for the show too.

In case you didn't know…

Dean Ambrose left WWE when his contract with the company expired at the end of April 2019, with WWE confirming the former WWE Champion's departure back in January following the Royal Rumble.

Moxley teased an appearance at AEW's Double or Nothing in May with a viral video, before his shock appearance after Chris Jericho vs Kenny Omega on the show where Mox would emerge from the crowd to attack both men.

The heart of the matter

Posters have emerged online showing Jon Moxley, formerly Dean Ambrose, on a non-WWE poster for the first time since leaving the company, with a match against Pentagon Jr for Northeast Wrestling in New York.

WWE's Renee Young, Moxley's wife, is also booked on the show - as is Dustin Rhodes, who also appeared at Double or Nothing, in a match against brother Cody, following his recent departure from WWE.

What's next?

While this is Jon Moxley's first confirmed post-WWE match, it's expected that the former WWE Champion will make his in-ring debut for AEW at Fyter Fest event in Daytona Beach, Florida on Saturday, June 29.
