After last night’s episode of SmackDown Live, it seems like the dream of KofiMania is over.
As Kofi Kingston braved five lethal opponents in one night without getting pinned or submitting even once, Vince McMahon piled the odds even more against the veteran’s favor.
Even though Kofi beat Sheamus, Cesaro, Rowan, Samoa Joe, and Randy Orton, it was not enough for Vince McMahon, who revealed Daniel Bryan as his final opponent for the night.
The change of momentum and tactics led to the WWE Champion Daniel Bryan beating the already tired and bruised leader of The New Day.
With that, the dream was over for the veteran and the WWE Universe as KofiMania suffered a screw job at the end of the night at the hands of the Chairman.
However, Kofi and the gang must not give up hope just yet as they might have a few other options to look at before completely giving up hope.
Let's take a look at three options for Kofi Kingston to try before completely giving up on his dream of getting a one-on-one WWE Championship match.
#3 The New Day besiege SmackDown Live
The trio was devasted by Vince’s announcement and Kofi’s loss on SmackDown Live last night. So much so, that they are even planning to quit the company following the actions of the Chairman.
Even though they’re frustrated enough to think along those lines, they can benefit from turning the situation on its head.
The New Day could come out with weapons on SmackDown Live next week, and take control of the ring, not allowing any matches to take place or attacking individuals in each match to cause no contests.
New Day’s demand can be simple: giving Kofi the chance he deserves. After causing chaos on the blue brand, Vince would have to give in to the demands of the biggest group on SmackDown under some special circumstances.
This would allow for a greater build up and give fans hope of seeing Kofi Kingston vs Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35.
#2 Vince sets up a handicap match
Another way Kofi can still get his chance is through the voice of the fans. When the McMahon family took back control of the two brands a few months ago, they promised to give the fans what they want.
Playing along those lines, Vince could begin next week’s episode with a segment that he promised to give the fans what they want, but Kofi’s loss is the reason they won’t get it.
Therefore, he decides to give Kofi another chance just because the fans want to see him try and fail again.
To do this, Vince could set up a 6-on-1 handicap match for the end of the night, with the stipulation that if Kofi wins, he gets his match.
The men who’d make up the six-man tag team would include the same men he faced in the gauntlet match, namely Sheamus, Cesaro, Randy Orton, Rowan, Samoa Joe, and Daniel Bryan.
Kofi can overcome all odds once again to pin Rowan early, after which Vince could come out again and change the match to an elimination match, with Kofi having to pin all six men to get his chance for the title.
#1 Kofi Kingston gets his LAST CHANCE
If Kofi Kingston and the other two superstars from The New Day are going to quit the WWE, then they should after keeping everything on the line.
At the beginning of next week’s show, WWE can schedule a segment claiming that the New Day is going to announce their departure from the company.
During the segment, Kofi Kingston issues a challenge to Daniel Bryan for a match at the end of the night rather than straightaway announcing that they are leaving the company.
Instead of a normal match, Kofi offers that if he loses the match, he will leave the WWE, however, if he wins the match, he will get his shot at the championship.
After a few insults to Daniel Bryan, Bryan could accept the challenge and have a match against Kofi at the end of the night to give him one last chance to have a one-on-one match for the top championship or leave the company for good.
