Kurt Angle dismisses reports of retirement

Angle is a legend in the world of wrestling

Kurt Angle shocked the wrestling world when reports emerged of the iconic wrestler’s plans to call it a day but now the man himself has dismissed reports of him hanging up his boots and made it clear that he simply wants to take a sabbatical from the ring.

Angle cleared the air during an interview with WrestleTalk TV and stated that his employer, TNA, was completely alright with his decision.

The wrestler was quoted as saying, "I told TNA I was taking a year off, they respected my wish."

He continued by saying, “They would like to talk to me in a year. WWE's an option. I haven't lied to TNA, I haven't lied to anybody, I just want time off. I've been doing it for 16 years. I didn't want to say I was retiring because I'd be lying.”

Angle also claimed that the WWE is set to induct him into their Hall Of Fame, but was unsure of when that would happen. The wrestler made sure to state that even though he’s wrestling his final match for TNA on January 31st it won’t be the last match of his professional career.

The 47-year-old’s comments are sure to cause excitement amongst his legions of fans, with many of them hoping he returns to his old stomping ground – WWE, and the wrestler’s confirmation of that being a possibility is sure to cause more hope.

Angle is one wrestler who everyone hopes won’t call it a day anytime soon, with the Pennsylvania-born wrestler winning almost everything there is to be won on WWE and to top it all the ultimate prize every athlete dreams of winning – an Olympic medal.
