WWE legends and nine-time Tag Team Champions Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy (aka The Hardys) had been linked to a return to the Stamford-based company. However, this might not be the case anymore.
The reason is that the legendary tag team has re-signed with TNA. There are no details on the new contract, but the company has announced that Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy have agreed to a new deal to stay with TNA. The Hardys are the reigning TNA World Tag Team Champions, a title they claimed for the third time in October. It was another title added to their resume, having won the Tag Team Titles in WWE (RAW and SmackDown), Ring of Honor, TNA, and WCW.
Re-signing with TNA doesn't mean that a return to the Stamford-based company is out of the question. Triple H and WWE have started collaborating with the promotion, resulting in TNA stars (like Jordynne Grace) appearing on NXT and vice versa.
As this collaboration is set to persist going forward, and with more TNA stars set to appear on NXT, Chief Content Officer Triple H could attempt to bring Jeff and Matt Hardy back (either on NXT or the main roster) for one final run.

Matt Hardy shares excitement about re-signing with TNA amid WWE rumors
Even though there was speculation that Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy were considering a WWE return, re-signing with TNA makes things more complicated for a comeback to the Stamford-based company.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Matt Hardy shared his excitement about staying with TNA and what is next for them as the TNA World Tag Team Champions.
"We really believe in the direction that TNA is going... They have put myself and Jeff in positions to succeed, which we’re very grateful for. We love the crew there, from the boys and the girls in the locker room to the management. Everyone and everything is really clicking right now. It feels like the unity is strong. The brand is growing again. I see a lot of upward mobility for TNA over the course of the next year. Jeff and I will be part of that for the next year," Matt Hardy said. [h/t Sports Illustrated]
Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy have spent 13 years with WWE (1998-2009, 2017, 2019) and won the Tag Team Titles nine times. As for TNA, they spent seven years there (2010-2017) and are now back after a seven-year absence.
