The eight-man field for the MITB ladder match is set with Big E the rumored participant from The New Day, that means that seven of the competitors in the match came through the ranks in NXT. Bobby Roode, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe and Big E are all former NXT Champions as well, with Rusev first finding his feet down in developmental and Strowman enjoying some time as a Rosebud alongside Adam Rose.
Since the winner of this match has the potential to become the next WWE or Universal Champion, it appears that WWE definitely believes in the future of their business now.
