AJ Styles defeated Samoa Joe and Rey Mysterio in a triple threat match before defeating Baron Corbin to become number one contender to the Universal Championship in the same night. This has set up a complete dream match between two of the best in-ring workers in all of WWE.

The rivalry between these two superstars has escalated very quickly with AJ Styles putting Seth Rollins through a table with the Phenomenal Forearm and AJ Styles walking out on Seth Rollins after hitting him with another Phenomenal Forearm and costing him a tag team match against Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley. AJ Styles has only just joined Monday Night Raw and as a result of that, Seth Rollins will likely retain the championship.
