Last week on SmackDown, The Motor City Machine Guns made a successful debut as they defeated A-Town Down Under and Los Garza in a triple-threat tag team match. This victory also meant The Guns will now face DIY this week to determine which team will challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
While there is a lot of excitement around the contest, there is a chance The Motor City Machine Guns might not make it to the ring against DIY. A major faction on SmackDown could launch a massive attack on them backstage. The major faction in question is the Solo Sikoa-led Bloodline.
The reason Bloodline could attack The Motor City Machine Guns is because, based on their match last week, it's clear that WWE's newest addition is a threat to the Samoan faction. And since the Sikoa-led faction is already dealing with a lot, they would not want to go through the challenge of facing Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin.
Because if they do, there is a chance they might lose the WWE Tag Team Championship. Hence, the best way The Bloodline could avert this situation is by attacking The Motor City Machine Guns to a point where they can't face DIY and are out for a few weeks.
The Motor City Machine Guns spoke about their 'surreal' SmackDown debut
When The Motor City Machine Guns competed on SmackDown last week, they made their WWE debut after spending 20 years in the professional wrestling business. During their career, the duo achieved a lot of success, but there was always a question about when they would make their WWE debut.
However, last week, those questions were put to rest as Motor City Machine Guns made a successful WWE debut. After the match, WWE Correspondent Byron Saxton caught up with the team on SmackDown LowDown, and in this interaction, the Machine Guns spoke about their debut:
"It's pretty surreal, you know. I'd like to say it's a dream come true, but it's more than that. It's a goal accomplished for us. It might have taken us 20 years to get here and to get to this position, but being one match away from being the number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championships, that's pretty crazy. Just saying it out loud kinda blows my mind a little bit."

On the upcoming episode of SmackDown, it will be interesting to see if The Motor City Machine Guns can win and challenge The Bloodline for the WWE Tag Team Championship. If they can do so and win the title, then it will be their 12th Tag Team Title overall in professional wrestling.
