30-year-old star admits she's struggling in her career after WWE firing - "It's a nightmare"

A popular former WWE star has acknowledged that it hasn't been smooth sailing for her following her departure from the Stamford-based promotion. In a recent interview, Nixon Newell revealed that she was frustrated with the lack of bookings.

Newell, who went by the name Tegan Nox, had two stints with the company. The first was from 2017-2021, while the second was under Triple H's creative leadership from December 2022 until November 2024, when she was shown the door again. It's safe to say Newell didn't receive any significant push during either tenure.

In a recent chat with Wrestling In Middle, the 30-year-old star made a frank admission about her career stagnating after her WWE firing. She explained that there has been a lack of bookings outside of the UK, her home country. Newell, however, is hopeful that things will change for the better down the line.

"Not great, to be honest. Severe lack of bookings. I'm not sure where that's from, but the bookings that I have done, like I've been home to ATTACK, which has been phenomenal. Got to wrestle Dani Luna, who's been on my list, God, for years since she first started training, I could tell she was going to be something special. So she's been on my list for a very, very long time. So I'm glad that one was in the books at least. But yeah, it's been slow. Hopefully it picks up soon because it's a nightmare. Nixon Newell once contemplated shaving her hair off in WWE

A few months back, in an interview, Nixon Newell disclosed that after she moved to WWE's main roster, Becky Lynch came up to her to mention how she was stealing her hairstyle. Newell added that this led to her contemplating entirely shaving her head off until Lynch made it clear that she was simply joking with her.

"She was away, and I had the flamed-colored hair, like red, yellows, oranges, just this big red hair. And when she came back, she went, 'Oh, so not only you’re stealing my hair, but you’re stealing my name, too!' I was like, 'No, no, no, no, I can change, no, Nox is a Harry Potter spell, this hair is red, it’s not orange, I promise!‘ She’s like, 'I’m ribbing you; it’s fine!' I was like, '[breathing a sigh of relief] Oh, okay! Because I will go shave my head right now!''' Newell said.

Nixon had gone to war with Becky Lynch on the October 9, 2023, edition of WWE RAW when the latter was NXT Women's Champion. The back-and-forth match went on for almost 15 minutes and put Nixon on the map as a rising star.
