A popular wrestler took to X (fka Twitter) to reveal that he was leaving WWE Performance Center and mentioned he had grown a lot as a performer. The person in question is Joe Hendry, who's been a mainstay in NXT of late due to the Stamford-based promotion's working relationship with TNA Wrestling.

The 36-year-old's character quickly became a rage among the viewers, so much so that he became more believed than many of NXT's top stars. This even resulted in him getting a shot at Ethan Page's NXT Championship at No Mercy 2024. Despite putting in a valiant effort, Hendry fell short of capturing the gold.

It looks like the title match was his last in WWE NXT, as Joe Hendry had taken to X (fka Twitter) to reveal that he was leaving the promotion's PC. He also shared a picture with long-time trainer Terry Taylor and wrote that it was a "privilege" to learn from him.

"Thank you Terry Taylor. It was a privilege to be your student. I walked out of the Performance Center a very different wrestler to the one that walked in. You pushed me to be the best version of myself I can be👏 👏", wrote Joe Hendry.

WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre is a fan of Joe Hendry

A couple of months back, Drew McIntyre shared his thoughts on Joe Hendry and showered him with praise. The Scottish Warrior stated that he was proud of the 36-year-old's accomplishments and pointed out how WWE's association with TNA Wrestling enabled Hendry to showcase his talents to a bigger audience.

"I do believe in Joe Hendry. I do. He’s doing awesome. I’m very, very proud of him, especially getting his song so high up in the charts and causing as much buzz as he’s caused. He’s deserved a big opportunity for a long time, and thankfully, he’s been able to showcase himself on IMPACT, and I’m sure he’s just gonna keep going up and going up, so sky’s the limit; he can do it all. Very talented in the ring, obviously on the microphone, but the videos are next-level, and I’m sure the fans of this channel have seen the ‘I’m Drew’ video to the tune of ‘I’m Blue.’" [H/T: POST Wrestling]

It remains to be seen what lies ahead for Joe Hendry and if WWE and TNA have plans for him to make more appearances in NXT in the coming weeks.
