A 36-year-old WWE star has teased his in-ring return after recently joining the company.

The structure of authority has changed dramatically in the promotion as of late. Triple H announced that Adam Pearce had been promoted to RAW GM and then introduced Nick Aldis as the new SmackDown GM. The former two-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion has already started throwing his power around, as he had Adam Pearce and Jey Uso kicked out of the building during this past Friday's episode of SmackDown.

In an interview today on Busted Open Radio, the SmackDown GM noted that he will be ready to return to the ring if the opportunity presents itself. Aldis said he was happy to be a part of the company and wants to help WWE in any way he can.

"God’s honest truth, my first conversations with Paul, with Triple H and with Bruce, I echoed the same message over and over again. It took a few months before I was given some sort of opportunity, but I just kept echoing the same message, which was I’m ready, willing and able to contribute to WWE in any way I can. I stand by that, and I appreciate everybody who wants to see me in different capacities. As far as I’m concerned, I’m just over the moon to be part of the process in any way. If other stuff comes along, those opportunities, you can bet that I’ll be ready, willing, and able," he said. [H/T: Inside the Ropes]

WWE legend Teddy Long claims there is no rush in getting Nick Aldis back in the ring

Wrestling veteran Teddy Long believes that Nick Aldis should return to the squared circle in WWE when the time is right.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Hall of Famer Teddy Long noted that this was a big break for Nick Aldis in his career. Long suggested that WWE allow Aldis to stay as the SmackDown GM for a while before having him compete in a match.

"This is absolutely a big break for him [Nick Aldis]. His foot is in the door. That doesn't mean he has to come right in and put the wrestling tights on. There's a story there already. There's Cody, and there are some other people. So why not let him be the general manager because he can always go to bigger and better things? Some guys would just be general managers, that's it."

Nick Aldis has also shared that he was nervous ahead of his debut on the October 13 edition of SmackDown but felt like he did a good job. Only time will tell when the new SmackDown GM trades in his suit for a pair of wrestling boots once again.
