The WWE star won multiple titles including tag team titles
Even major stars in WWE sometimes request their release.

Being a WWE star might seem incredibly glamorous on television but the reality of it is much different. The wrestlers put their bodies, personal lives, and mental health on the line just to get a chance to showcase their talent. This can understandably become too demanding at times for performers.

A former star revealed that the tough schedule of the company and traveling was what made him want to leave the WWE to seek other opportunities. The star in question is former tag team champion Chavo Guerrero.

The former Cruiserweight Champion recently appeared on Cafe de Rene with Rene Dupree where he was asked about his exit from the company. The 53-year-old revealed that he had asked the company for his release owing to the tough schedule and not getting the chance to stay with his family.

"I just wasn't happy there anymore, I wasn't happy about the way i was being used but I get It. It's a business and you're making.. you know..room for the younger guys and now your job is to make the other guys look good and I get it you know. I just wasn't happy with that. I wasn't happy being on the road, you know back in the day we were on the road 220-280 days a year," said Chavo (1:07-1:34)

Chavo Gurrero reveals conditions WWE had before granting him his release

In the same podcast, the former ECW World Champion also talked about how acrimonious his exit was. He listed out the conditions laid out by the company in order to agree to his release. The conditions were communicated to him by then- Head of Talent relations, John Laurinaitis.

"Johnny came to me he said well we finally talked to Vince and he agreed to your release under conditions." (4:32-4:37)

Chavo felt the company put these conditions in place as he had made a name for himself wrestling on WWE television for over a decade.

"You can't work certain shows, you can't work for certain companies yet, you have to okay things by us and I said, Oh! What's going on, did you just realise you put 13 years or 12 years of TV into me and maybe you could have used me better, maybe that's what's going on" (4:40-4:58)

Chavo had a short run on TNA where he was a two-time tag team champion, he also spent time on the independent circuit before moving to Lucha Underground in 2014. His last major appearance at a major wrestling promotion was as the manager of Bandido in AEW.
