Apollo Crews has been part of the WWE roster for several years now. He has always managed to impress fans with his athleticism despite his massive size and frame. However, Crews is often overlooked and has yet to have his moment in the company.
Recently, Crews formed a successful tag team with Baron Corbin. Together, the two men have started to feature more prominently on the blue brand. This has caused WWE's management to take notice of their performances. As a result, they were included in the gauntlet match to determine the number one contender for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

Baron Corbin and Crews started the match against Legado Del Fantasma. After getting the pinfall against LDF, the Street Profits were in next. As soon as they entered the match, the Profits took advantage of the situation. However, Crews almost suffered a disastrous neck injury when Montez Ford went for a back suplex and dropped the former Intercontinental Champion on his neck. This botched move even had the WWE Universe gasping in shock.
