A popular nine-time WWE champion recently revealed that he has been receiving major support from Cody Rhodes amid his injury hiatus. It is none other than Kevin Owens. The Prizefighter has won the Universal Championship once, the NXT Championship once, the Intercontinental Championship twice, the United States Championship thrice, and the Tag Team Championship twice.
Kevin Owens was supposed to lock horns with Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41. Ahead of the event, during an edition of SmackDown, KO revealed that he had been dealing with neck issues for quite some time and needed to undergo surgery. Owens also announced that he won't be able to compete against The Viper at The Show of Shows, and he did not know when or if he would be able to return to the ring. Since this announcement, the 41-year-old has not been seen on WWE TV.
During a recent interview on le10sport, Kevin Owens revealed that his real-life friend and on-screen rival, Cody Rhodes, is the one person who has kept in touch with him amid his hiatus due to a potential career-ending injury.
KO also mentioned that The American Nightmare does everything to keep his spirits up during this extremely difficult time.
"We've known each other for a long time. Since I got injured, he's probably the person who cares the most about my well-being, who talks to me the most, who does everything he can to keep my spirits up," he said.
WWE star Kevin Owens revealed Randy Orton was the first person to know about his injury
During the same interview with le10sport, Kevin Owens revealed that Randy Orton was the first person he told about his injury after consulting with the doctors. KO added that he believed Orton deserved to know about it first, as they were supposed to lock horns at WWE WrestleMania 41.
"Randy was the first person I spoke to after the discussion with the doctors, because it's a question of respect as well. He was the one I was supposed to have a match with at WrestleMania. And despite the things that happened in the months leading up to WrestleMania, there are very few people in the wrestling world that I respect as much as Randy Orton. So, I spoke to him immediately. He was the first person I called after talking to the doctor," he said.
It remains to be seen when Kevin Owens will return to WWE's weekly programming.
