WWE Superstar Kevin Owens is currently out of action and dealing with a career-threatening injury. The Prizefighter recently opened up to reveal how his recent rival, Randy Orton, helped him during the difficult phase.
KO was supposed to wrestle The Apex Predator at WrestleMania 41. However, on the April 4 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Owens revealed that he had to pull out from the clash. The former WWE Universal Champion pointed out that he had injured his neck and needed surgery.
During an interview with le10Sport, Kevin Owens revealed Randy Orton was the first person he spoke to after his discussion with the doctors. The 41-year-old also talked about the immense respect he has for The Viper.
"Randy was the first person I spoke to after the discussion with the doctors, because it's a question of respect as well. He was the one I was supposed to have a match with at WrestleMania. And despite the things that happened in the months leading up to WrestleMania, there are very few people in the wrestling world that I respect as much as Randy Orton. So, I spoke to him immediately. He was the first person I called after talking to the doctor," he said.
Kevin Owens further revealed that Randy Orton helped him get in touch with the doctor who performed his surgery a couple of years ago and helped the 14-time WWE Champion revive his career. KO said that he was in good hands with the doctor and four specialists, thanks to Orton's support.
"He immediately put me in touch with the surgeon who did his surgery, who saved his career. Since then, I have been in constant contact with this surgeon, who evaluates all my test results, keeps an eye on everything that happens, and advises me as I go along. So, I'm very lucky to have all the support I have, Randy included. And now I have the chance to talk not only to his doctor but to many others as well. I have four specialists who are available to me and to whom I can ask questions when I need them. So, I'm in very good hands. Randy helped me a lot in this process," Owens added.
Kevin Owens is yet to undergo surgery
Although Kevin Owens pulled out of WrestleMania due to injury, claiming he required surgery, the SmackDown Superstar is yet to go under the knife.
Speaking to le10Sport, Kevin Owens also pointed out that he definitely needed surgery. However, the doctors were waiting for his condition to improve naturally until he was ready. KO stated that he had no option but to wait patiently.
Only time will tell what the future holds for Kevin Owens. It remains to be seen when he will be able to return to the squared circle.
